Linton : the Broken Buss Tones Tour

Phil Bee and the Buzztones a steaming  bluesband from the Netherlands, five guys combining a whole lot of influences and Bluesstyles. Hundreds of gigs all over the Benelux and Germany and outstanding musicianship give this band it’s special blend of Blues:

Phil Bee (vocals, guitars) has been the frontman of the well-known dutch outfit ”Doctor Rhythm” - a band which released two CDs (Get Lucky, 1997, and Medication Time, 2000). Phil’s voice and timbre is often described as a style between Sugar Ray Norcia and Paul Weller. In addition Phil organised and fronted Hendrix-tribute-concerts, the so called ”Hendrix Files”-tour (2002-2003-2007), in which he shared the stage with the likes of Noel Redding, Steve Lukather, Jan Akkerman (who has become a close friend of Phil’s) and Ana Popovic . With the Buzztones he’s going back to his roots in Blues and Soul. Almost all lyrics of the band’s songs are written by Phil aswell as a some of the music.

Stanley Patty (guitars) was the guitar player with ”Doctor Rhythm”, and his fat tone - somewhere between Johnny Guitar Watson, Ronnie Earl and Albert Collins - dominates the buzzy bandsound of the Buzztones. One of his dearest memories as a musician are the gigs he did with Jan Akkerman, Lynwood Slim and R.J.Mischo ... Stanley also composes a big part of the Buzztones’ songs together with Phil. Stanley is more than once considered one of the best authentic bluesguitarists in the Benelux.

Colly Franssen (Hammond C3) Colly and his inevitable Hammond is the eye-catcher of the band. In his long and outstanding career he played with famous Dutch acts as Jan Akkerman, Bertus Borgers and Arno Adams. Colly even had his own record contract, but now he’s back in the Blues and pushing the Buzztones to new heights with his original 60’s Hammondsounds and a whole lotta Boogie-Woogie ...

Peter Steeghs (drums) is the third former ”Doctor Rhythm”-member and likes to put down a groove with a big G. Buddy Rich is his main man ... His drum arrangements are well thought of and often add the extra groove to the songs.

Jules ”Magic Buss” van Bussel (bass, double bass), the former bassplayer of ”Beau Boots” and the ”Tube Kings”, has gigged in and around the Benelux a lot - and even played in the USA for a while. Besides his work with the Buzztones he likes to gig with guys like Peter Kempe (Juke Joints) and Henk van der Sypt (Last Call) ... Jules also starting writing some Buzztones’ tunes.
