Buzztones to feature on compilation CD of Belgium’s No 1 blues magazine ‘Back to the Roots’.
Belgium’s leading blues magazine BTTR is bringing out blues compilation albums once a couple of years. This year’s album will amongst others feature Rod Piazza and more international leading blues names. Also some Benelux bluesbands are chosen to feature on this album. Buzztones will feature with their song ‘My heart is burning’ from the latest CD.

The CD will not be for sale, but only available when you are subscribed to this magazine. Most likely the CD will be added to the november issue.

And so we did. Our gig at the Southern Blues Night was recorded, by sound engineer Rob Driessen, who will also mix the album. The plan was to have Ian Siegal join us for one song. OK, one song became 5 songs in an uncomparable jam with also Wesley van Werkhoven of the Dutch rising blues stars, Big Blind. We will let you know asap, when a release date will be set. But according to Wil Wijnhoven of www.bluesbreeker.nl this show was the best of the evening so.......

March 10th 2008.
LIVE CD will be recorded at our Southern Blues Night gig, March 21st in Heerlen. Besides our own gig we are also taping the gig with LEA GILMORE, though it’s not said we will use any of that. Also IAN SIEGAL will be around that night and it just so might happen that he will sit in with us. Of course you are all welcome to support us. Besides our gig you can have a wonderful blues night with Duke Robillard, Tail Dragger, Ian Siegal etc etc.

Feb. 27th 2008.
Proud to announce 2008 looks like it’s going to be our best year so far. Booked at festivals as Delft, SBN Heerlen, SR&BB Breda, Kwadendamme, our gigs always and only take place in front of great bluescrowds, which is really our main goal. We might also record a new CD this year, more news to follow asap.

November 10th
Buzztones are proud and happy to announce Mrs Lea Gillmore (USA) will be touring with us in March 2008. 2 dates have been confirmed so far (see gigs page) others to follow asap.

April 13th
Our annual gig at the Café Tribunal, Maastricht has been postponed for logistics reasons, so we will not play either April 29th nor 30th, but SEPT. 29th. Make a note in your diaries !

March 21st

Jan. 18th
It’s official, our appearance at the 3 day Linton Bluesfestival (UK). We are pleased and proud to announce we will perform at this international festival on Saturday June 23rd. Prime time, from 19.45 h to 21.15 h. Right after Ian Siegel and preceeding Nine Below Zero. Read all about it on the official Linton webpage.

Phil to give a lecture about Jimi Hendrix for the Studium Generale in Groningen, date nov. 7th.

Oct. 12th
  Roy van der Putten to replace Stanley for 3 months
  Stanley our main man on the guitar will need to go to his native country Indonesia from                   november up to january. Meanwhile he will be replaced by no one less than Roy van der Putten.

  Roy used to be member of a legendary Dutch bluesband called Texan Tail. First gig to be played        with Roy will be Nov. 11th at “de Borenburg”.

  We wish both Stan and Roy good luck and for those who have never seen Roy play, come check     him out at our gigs, it’s worth it.

Stanley is organizing a charity concert with special guest JAN AKKERMAN and 3 bands that will participate at zero cost, amongst them of course the Buzztones. The concert will take place in Maastricht (NL) Sunday june 11th after the World Chamionship football game (Holland-Serbia). The concert will start at 19.00 h.
